History Colorado is one of only eight institutions nationwide chosen to display a collection of America's founding documents that have never traveled together before. Original engraving of the Declaration of Independence, a rare draft printing of the Constitution, the Articles of Association from 1774, Oaths of Allegiance signed by Washington, Hamilton, and Burr, the Treaty of Paris signed by John Adams. A genuine once-in-a-generation moment.
The exhibition is the National Archives' commemoration of the country's 250th anniversary, inspired by the 1976 Bicentennial Freedom Train. Denver is its third stop, and the documents are only on display for 18 days.
What to Expect
Seven original Founding-era documents in a single curated display, alongside History Colorado's standing exhibits on Colorado history. Allow at least 90 minutes if you also want to see the rest of the museum.
