The world's most ridiculous downhill race rolls back into Denver for the first time in 18 years. Teams build wildly creative, non-motorized soapbox cars and send them down a course packed with jumps and obstacles. Judged on speed, design, and pure showmanship. Day-drinking in the stands is part of the appeal.
About 40 to 45 teams will run the course. Cars cap at 5 feet wide, 10 feet long, 6 feet tall, and 175 pounds (driver excluded). Only gravity powers them. The event is free to attend at Empower Field at Mile High.
Gates open at 11 am, racing starts around 12:15 pm. Teams race one at a time. Between runs, expect MC commentary, music, and a lot of waiting around for the next absurd vehicle to launch.
Park in one of the stadium lots or rideshare to avoid traffic. Bring sun protection. Concessions are open but lines are long. Free admission, no ticket needed.
