Union Station's plaza turns into a rotating outdoor market on select weekends from late May through October. Local artists, makers, vintage sellers, and small-batch food vendors take over the space, with the lineup shifting week to week.
It is one of the easier Saturday plans in town. The plaza is shaded in spots, there is a Terminal Bar cocktail twenty feet away, and the train station foot traffic makes for good people watching. Even if you do not buy anything, an hour wandering between booths is a good use of a morning.
Thirty to fifty vendors on a typical weekend, heavy on jewelry, prints, ceramics, vintage clothing, and small-batch goods. Food trucks rotate. Music is usually a single acoustic act. Markets run Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 6 pm. Free admission.
Light rail to Union Station drops you right at the front door. Free to enter. Bring a tote. Vendors mostly take card but cash speeds the line. Plan to spend less than you think you will, then spend more.
