Denver at 25 to 35: Working Remote Without Losing Your Mind
How remote workers in Denver get out of the apartment: coffee shops, coworking day passes, and what each actually costs you.
If you've been working from your couch since Monday and the only person you've talked to is the DoorDash guy, it's time to leave the apartment.
Denver makes this pretty easy. You've got coffee shops that are fine with laptops and coworking spaces that sell day passes, and plenty of people mix the two depending on how many calls they have that week.
The short version
For a few hours of focused work, a coffee shop is the cheap move: you're buying a drink, not a desk. If you need reliable quiet, a door for calls, or a full 9 to 5, a coworking day pass is the better bet. If you're going more than a few days a month, look at a membership instead.
What people actually do
Coffee shops, rotated. Four spots in our directory are tagged as work-friendly:
- Crema Coffee House in RiNo: 4.6 stars from 1,519 reviews as of 2026-05-02, tagged remote-work-friendly and low-key.
- Thump Coffee in Capitol Hill: 4.5 stars from 1,322 reviews as of 2026-05-02. It's tagged affordable, which matters if you're there every day.
- Sweet Bloom Coffee on West Colfax: 4.8 stars from 856 reviews as of 2026-05-02, a specialty roaster for people who are particular about their coffee.
- Convivio Café - Northside: 4.9 stars from 482 reviews as of 2026-07-11, with pastries and breakfast, so you can stay through lunch without moving.
The downside: you don't control the noise, the outlets or the table. Popular shops fill up, and taking calls at a shared table is rough for everybody. For more options, see Best Coffee Shops to Work From in Denver (2026).
Coworking day passes. WeWork's Denver page lists a day pass "from $39/day" at Tabor Center and Wells Fargo Center (WeWork, checked 2026-11-07). "From" means it could cost more. Thrive Workplace says it has day passes at five Denver locations, but its page doesn't clearly list the price (Thrive, checked 2026-11-07). Creative Density has locations in Uptown, Sunnyside and Park Hill. Its day-pass page is more than a year old, so check the current price before you go (Creative Density).
The practical stuff
Memberships. WeWork lists Denver coworking at $220/mo, marked down to $187/mo (checked 2026-11-07). Thrive lists a $400/month dedicated spot. A monthly plan only makes sense if you'd otherwise buy a lot of day passes, so check the pass price and do the math for your own week.
Coffee shop manners. Buy something every couple of hours. Don't take up a four-top by yourself during the lunch rush. Take calls outside or save them for home.
Getting there. The downtown WeWork locations make sense if you're on transit. Check RTD for routes before you commit to a regular spot that's two buses away.
Actually meeting people. Working next to strangers isn't a social life. Being a regular at one shop helps a bit, and the events calendar is there for evenings when you're tired of hearing your own voice.
