Midweek in Denver: Tonight & Tomorrow (September 2)
The best of Wednesday and Thursday in Denver: shows, socials, and reasons the weekend can wait.
Real talk: Wednesday and Thursday are stacked this week and the weekend can wait. We've got Keanu Reeves fronting a rock band, GRiZ doing back to back nights at Red Rocks, and enough free run clubs and trivia to make "school night" feel like a made up rule.
Here's what's actually worth leaving the couch for.
Tonight
GRiZ, 5:30pm at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The funk and bass king is back at the best venue in the state. If you've never seen a show here on a Wednesday, the crowd is somehow even looser than the weekend version.
Rockies vs. Orioles, 1:10pm at Coors Field. Yes it's a day game, yes you can still make it, yes a $5 beer in the upper deck on a random Wednesday afternoon is a genuinely great life choice.
Dogstar, 7pm at Summit Music Hall. Keanu Reeves has a rock band and they're actually good, not "I feel bad but it's fine" good, actually good. This is a story you'll be telling people for years.
BABYMETAL, 7:20pm at Ball Arena. Metal riffs, J-pop choreography, pure chaos in the best way. You don't need to know a single song going in.
Grizzly Rose Line Dancing Night, 6:30pm at Grizzly Rose. Free lesson, no cliques, then board games after. Denver's honky-tonk on a Wednesday is a genuinely underrated hang.
HTB Run Club, 6:30pm at Highland Tap & Burger. Free run, dinner and drink specials waiting for you at the finish line. This is the easiest "yes" on the list.
Tomorrow
GRiZ, 5:30pm at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Night two. If you missed Wednesday or just want to go twice, no judgment here.
The Electric Light Orchestra Experience, 7:30pm at Paramount Theatre. A full ELO tribute in that gorgeous old theater downtown. "Mr. Blue Sky" hits different live.
Sweet Pill, 8pm at Oriental Theater. Loud, sharp rock in a room that sounds great and never feels too big.
Geeks Who Drink Trivia, 7pm at Denver Milk Market. $10 pizzas, $10 drinks, and trivia questions that will humble you. Round up a team.
L'Apero de Denver, 7pm, rotating bars (this week's spot lands in the group chat once you email in). A standing Thursday happy hour that bounces around the city's better patios and wine bars.
Colorado Harriers Tempo Thursday, 6:30pm at Denver Beer Company. Free tempo run followed by BOGO beers. Best deal on this entire list.
