Neighborhood Spotlight: The Highlands, Denver (August 2026)
Where to actually eat, drink, and hang out in The Highlands right now, plus what's on the calendar there in the next two weeks.
The Highlands is that part of Denver where you can knock out a hard workout, buy a weird little plant, and end up on a patio with a coffee in your hand all before noon. It's walkable, it's got that old bungalow charm mixed with new coffee shops on every corner, and it's basically built for a slow, intentional Saturday. This one's for the person who wants their day off to actually feel like a day off, not just errands with better lighting.
The Spots
BODYROK Denver is 5/5 (59 reviews) and will absolutely humble you on a megaformer while loud music tries to distract you from how much your legs are shaking.
Plate Strength is 5/5 (95 reviews), a Sunnyside gym where nobody's doing curls in the squat rack and lifting heavy is the whole point.
SweatHouz Tennyson Contrast Therapy Studio is 5/5 (129 reviews), infrared heat then a cold plunge, the Berkeley ritual that makes you feel like a new person for the rest of the day.
Tigerlily Goods is 5/5 (110 reviews) and turns "just running in for one thing" into an hour you didn't budget for, in the best way.
barre3 is 5/5 (154 reviews), the Highlands Square barre studio that gets you real results without your knees filing a complaint.
Coffeegraph is 4.9/5 (356 reviews), a Jefferson Park spot where the coffee is legit and the staff actually remembers your order.
Overgrown Home is 4.9/5 (79 reviews), a West Highland plant shop where the staff knows every plant by name and will talk you out of killing it.
The Terrorium Shop is 4.9/5 (717 reviews), which for a shop that size is basically the whole neighborhood telling you to go check it out.
Convivio Café (Northside) is 4.9/5 (482 reviews), the kind of coffee shop where regulars have a regular table.
Little Wolf, home of Flip & Howl Burger Kitchen, is 4.9/5 (255 reviews) and clearly figured out the recovery-day formula this neighborhood needed.
