The Move: deadmau5 at Red Rocks, Fri Oct 30

When to park, why your ride home leaves from the bottom lot, and where to stop before deadmau5 at Red Rocks on Oct 30.

Getting into Red Rocks is a drive, and getting out is a walk. deadmau5 plays Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Fri Oct 30, outdoors at the end of October: in Denver, lows on that date ran from 3F to 38F over 2016-2025.

Our map data shows no rail station within about 1.2 miles, and our directory has no rated food within a 10-minute walk. Parking comes with most tickets, but the venue assigns your spot, and every rideshare home leaves from one lot at the bottom of the hill.

Ignore this

  • "Just drive up and park near the top lot." Traffic Control assigns your space after you enter the park, and late arrivals can land in the Jurassic Lot, a mile from the South Gate, per the venue's FAQ, checked Oct 21.
  • "Grab an Uber home after, it's easy." All pickups, Uber and Lyft included, happen at the Jurassic Lot inside Entrance 2, a downhill walk, and the venue warns its post-show shuttles there run with delays, per the venue's Getting Here page, checked Oct 21.
  • "Bring a backpack for your layers." Multi-pocket bags aren't allowed. Single-pocket or clear bags up to 13 x 15 x 8 inches are, per the permitted items page, checked Oct 21.

The plan

When to go

Fri Oct 30: AXS lists doors at 7:00pm and a 7:30pm start, and lots open two hours before doors, so about 5:00pm. Aim to be parked by 5:30pm, since overflow parking depends on arrival times. Sat Oct 31 runs the same times and we couldn't confirm a price gap, so neither night wins on data. Denver's normal for Oct 30 is 60F and 32F (2016-2025 highs 19F to 77F); the NWS forecast for the venue covers the date from around Oct 23, so dress for the low.

Getting there and home

The venue's Getting Here page mentions no RTD service, and we couldn't confirm what RTD runs out there, so check RTD's trip planner before counting on it. Driving is the move: the FAQ says parking is included in the ticket price for most shows, with no extra fee at the venue on show day. Rides home all leave from the Jurassic Lot covered above.

Eat first

Our directory has no spot rated 4.3 or better (100+ reviews) within a 10-minute walk of the venue. The top nearby pick is Green Mountain Beer Company, a brewery at 4.6 from 605 reviews (as of May 2026), 4.89 miles away as the crow flies. We couldn't confirm food there, so call it a drink stop on the drive over. The venue allows food in a clear plastic bag of a gallon or less, and tailgating at the rear of your car, so pack dinner.

Skip

Skip the umbrella: it's on the venue's banned list, and Oct 30 saw measurable precipitation in 3 of the last 10 years in Denver. Pack a rain shell that fits the bag rule, and leave aerosol sunscreen home too, since aerosols are banned.

The one upcharge

The Ghosts N Stuff VIP package on the artist store gets you a reserved seat in Rows 1-7, crowd-free merch shopping at Red Rocks, a VIP merch package and a Fast Pass to a Denver pop-up with a meet and greet. We couldn't confirm its price when we checked Oct 21. On a night with a 32F normal low, a reserved seat means waiting in a warm car until 7:00pm doors. Rows 1-4 are non-transferable, per the FAQ.

Everything else happening that week is on our events calendar.

Receipts: AXS and Red Rocks official pages (checked Oct 21, 2026); RTD's own pages weren't checked; directory ratings as of May 2026; NOAA 1991-2020 normals and the 2016-2025 record for Oct 30; OpenStreetMap distances (checked Oct 20, 2026).
