The Sweat Report: Denver Fitness This Week (September 29)

Run clubs, classes, and the active plans worth showing up for this week in Denver: plus where to recover after.

Fall officially showed up this week, which means the 6am track workouts feel a little less brutal and the patio beers after evening runs feel a little more earned. Denver's run club calendar barely takes a breath, so here's the stuff worth actually showing up for: the recurring runs where you'll see the same faces enough times to become friends, plus this week's one-off stuff worth building a night around.

Lace up, sweat out, then go treat yourself properly. Here's the lineup.

The Standing Plans

Colorado Harriers Tuesday Track Workout: Tuesdays 6:15am at North High School track. Early, free, and full of people who take intervals seriously but aren't precious about it.

Denver Run Club Tuesday Social Run: Tuesdays 6pm at Ratio Beerworks, 2920 Larimer St. A 5K followed by beers with strangers who stop being strangers pretty fast.

Denver Trail Runners Tuesday Mellow Run: Tuesdays 5:30pm at Deer Creek Canyon Park. Relaxed pace, built for people who are newer to trails and don't want to get dropped on mile one.

HTB Run Club: Wednesdays 6:30pm at Highland Tap & Burger. Runs year round, and the dinner and drink specials after are basically the whole point.

Runners Roost Denver Wednesday Run Club: Wednesdays 6pm from the store at 1685 S Colorado Blvd. Classic shop run, all paces, easy way to find your people if you're new to the city.

November Project Denver Wednesday Workout: Wednesdays 6:15am, alternating Civic Center Park and the Capitol steps. Free, no-drop, and loud in the best way. This is a real community, not just a workout.

Colorado Harriers Tempo Thursday: Thursdays 6:30pm at Denver Beer Company, 1695 Platte St. Tempo run into BOGO beers. Runs through November, then it's gone for the season, so get in now.

Denver Trail Runners Thursday Evening Run: Thursdays 6:15pm at rotating foothills trailheads (location drops on their Facebook/Google Group). Run for an hour or so, then dinner after with the group.

Citius RC Thursday Tempo Workout: Thursdays 5:30am at South High School parking lot. For the people who'd rather suffer before sunrise than after work.

Denver Run Club Friday Track Workout: Fridays around 6:30am at North High School track. Solid way to close the week before the weekend takes over.

Citius RC Friday Breakfast Club: Fridays 6am, rotating coffee shops. Easy pace, easy conversation, coffee waiting at the end. Low pressure, high payoff.

Citius RC Saturday Long Run: Saturdays 7am (8am once summer ends), rotating coffee shops and running stores. About 8 miles with pace groups, so nobody gets left alone out there.

Denver Trail Runners Sunday Long Run: Sundays 7-8am on rotating foothill and mountain trails. 1.5 to 2 hours, a good excuse to actually see the mountains instead of just looking at them from I-70.

Odell Brewing Run Club: Mondays 6:30pm from the RiNo taproom, 2945 Larimer St. Free social run that turns into a normal Monday night at a brewery, which is a solid trade.

Cerebral Brewing Run Club: Mondays 6pm at 1477 Monroe St. Smaller crowd, same energy: run it off, then don't.

This Week Only

SnowShape Fitness Series: Saturday, October 3rd, 8am at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. A workout on the actual Red Rocks steps, presented by Toyota. If you've been meaning to do the stairs thing, this is your structured excuse.

Cavetown: Running With Scissors Tour: Wednesday, September 30th, 7pm at Summit Music Hall. Do the HTB run club that same evening, then go stand in a crowd and yell along instead of going home.

Beck: Ride Lonesome Tour: Thursday, October 1st, 8pm at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Hit the Colorado Harriers tempo run at Denver Beer Co first, then drive up for one of the best shows this venue will host all fall.

Chuy Lizarraga: Friday, October 2nd, 8pm at Bellco Theatre. Track workout in the morning, live music at night. That's a full day.

Recover Right

KinetikChain Physical Therapy Denver, Cherry Creek: one-on-one PT for people who train hard and don't want to sit out the next training block.

Posture Power Wellness, Cheesman Park: a 5 star wellness stop for anyone whose desk job is fighting their run club habit.

Axis Pilates Denver, Capitol Hill: a calm, expert-led reformer Pilates studio in Cheesman Park with a perfect 5 star rating. Good counterweight to all that pavement pounding.

Full calendar, every run club and every event, always at /events.
