The Sweat Report: Denver Fitness This Week (October 6)

Run clubs, classes, and the active plans worth showing up for this week in Denver: plus where to recover after.

October hit Denver and suddenly everyone's "training for something" again. Doesn't matter if that something is a half marathon or just surviving your friend's wedding in December, the run clubs are packed and the mornings are cold enough that showing up actually means something.

This week's lineup is heavy on the usual suspects: track workouts before sunrise, brewery runs that are really just happy hour with extra steps, and two big one-offs at Red Rocks that'll wreck your legs in the best way. Here's where to show up.

The Standing Plans

Denver Run Club Tuesday Social Run, Tuesdays 6pm at Ratio Beerworks (2920 Larimer St). Free 5K, drinks after, and the crowd skews social over serious. This is the one where you actually make plans with strangers.

Citius RC Tuesday Track Workout, Tuesdays, warmup 5:30am, workout 5:55am, alternating South or North High School track. For people who like structure and don't mind being up before the sun.

Denver Trail Runners Tuesday Mellow Run, Tuesdays 5:30pm at Deer Creek Canyon Park. Relaxed pace, built for newer trail runners who don't want to get dropped on mile two.

Cooldown Running Denver Tuesday Run, Tuesdays 6:30pm, location rotates weekly (check @cooldownrunning on Instagram). Short mileage, run or walk, low pressure.

HTB Run Club, Wednesdays 6:30pm at Highland Tap & Burger. Dinner and drink specials after, which is honestly half the reason people keep coming back.

Runners Roost Denver Wednesday Run Club, Wednesdays 6pm from the store at 1685 S Colorado Blvd. Classic shop run, easy to join solo.

November Project Denver Wednesday Workout, Wednesdays 6:15am, alternating between Civic Center Park and the Capitol steps. Free, year-round, and the community here is the real draw, not the stairs.

Colorado Harriers Tempo Thursday, Thursdays 6:30pm at Denver Beer Company. Tempo run followed by BOGO beers, which tells you exactly who this is for.

Denver Trail Runners Thursday Evening Run, Thursdays 6:15pm, foothills trailheads announced weekly. Dinner after, 60 to 75 minutes of actual trail time.

Citius RC Friday Breakfast Club, Fridays 6am, rotating coffee shops. Easy pace, all social, the kind of run where you end up staying for a second coffee.

November Project Denver Friday Workout, Fridays 6:15am, rotating parks announced Thursdays on their socials. Same crew as Wednesday, different scenery.

Citius RC Saturday Long Run, Saturdays 8am (7am in summer), rotating coffee shops and running stores. About 8 miles with pace groups, so nobody gets left behind.

Cerebral Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6pm at Cerebral Brewing. Free social run that ends exactly where you'd want it to: at the bar.

Odell Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6:30pm at Odell Brewing RiNo. Same idea, different taproom, equally good excuse to start the week moving.

Runners Roost Central Park Monday Run Club, Mondays 5:45pm from the Stapleton store. Good option if you're on that side of town and want a Monday that doesn't feel like a Monday.

This Week Only

SnowShape Fitness Series, Saturday October 10, 8am at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. A fitness series live on the actual Red Rocks stage, which is reason enough to go.

Run the Rocks, Sunday October 11, 8:15am to 1pm at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This is the 21st year of this one, so it's less an event and more a Denver fall tradition at this point.

Mile High Young Professionals Monthly Social, Tuesday October 13, show up 5:45pm for orientation, event starts 6pm. Rotating venue, recent ones at The University Club (1673 Sherman St). Not a workout, but it's where a lot of these run club friendships turn into actual friendships.

Recover Right

Yoga Box, Cherry Creek. Heated classes and teachers who actually remember your name, which is rare enough to mention.

Onus IV Therapy + Longevity, LoHi. IV drips and longevity treatments for people who take recovery as seriously as the workout.

Infusion IV Lounge, Uptown. IV therapy for whenever Saturday's long run (or Saturday night) catches up with you.

Full calendar, every run club, class, and one-off we didn't have room for, lives at /events.
