The Sweat Report: Denver Fitness This Week (October 13)
Run clubs, classes, and the active plans worth showing up for this week in Denver: plus where to recover after.
Fall mornings are brutal for waking up early, but the run club crowd in this city does not care. Track workouts before sunrise, breweries after dark, and at least two games happening Wednesday night if you need a reason to sit down for once. Here's where to move your body and actually talk to people this week.
The Standing Plans
Denver Run Club - Tuesday Social Run, Tuesdays 6:00pm at Ratio Beerworks (2920 Larimer St). About a 5K, then everyone just stays for drinks. This is the one your friend who "doesn't really run" actually shows up to.
Cooldown Running Denver - Tuesday Run, Tuesdays 6:30pm, location drops weekly on @cooldownrunning. 1 to 5 miles, run or walk, zero pressure. Follow the account or you'll miss where it is.
Colorado Harriers - Tuesday Track Workout, Tuesday mornings at North High School track. If you actually want to get faster and don't mind doing it before 7am, this is your people.
HTB Run Club, Wednesdays 6:30pm at Highland Tap & Burger. Dinner and drink specials after, which is honestly the whole reason to go. Great mix of people who run for the burger.
November Project Denver - Wednesday Workout, Wednesdays 6:15am, alternating between Civic Center Park and the Capitol steps. Free, loud, a little chaotic, and the most community you'll find before your coffee kicks in.
Denver Trail Runners - Thursday Evening Run, Thursdays 6:15pm at a foothills trailhead announced weekly on Facebook. 60 to 75 minutes on dirt, dinner after. Good one if you want trees instead of sidewalks.
Colorado Harriers - Tempo Thursday, Thursdays 6:30pm at Denver Beer Company (1695 Platte St). Tempo run followed by BOGO beers through November. This one fills up fast with regulars who clearly know the deal.
Citius RC - Friday Breakfast Club Social Run, Fridays 6:00am, rotating coffee shops. Easy pace, no watches checked, basically a run that ends in a latte.
November Project Denver - Friday Workout, Fridays 6:15am, location announced Thursdays on IG. Same energy as their Wednesday one, different park, still free.
Citius RC - Saturday Long Run, Saturdays 8:00am this time of year, rotating coffee shops and running stores. About 8 miles with pace groups, so nobody gets left behind.
Denver Trail Runners - Sunday Long Run, Sundays 7 to 8am, foothill and mountain trails announced weekly. 1.5 to 2 hours out there, a solid way to earn your Sunday nap.
Cerebral Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6:00pm at Cerebral Brewing (1477 Monroe St). Low key start to the week, beer at the finish line, exactly what Monday needs.
Odell Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6:30pm at the RiNo taproom (2945 Larimer St). Same idea, different neighborhood, bigger crowd most weeks.
Runners Roost Central Park - Monday Run Club, Mondays 5:45pm from the store at 7305 E 35th Ave. Good option if you're on the Stapleton side of town and want a shop crowd instead of a brewery crowd.
This Week Only
Mile High Young Professionals Monthly Social, Tuesday 10/13, 6:00pm, rotating venue (recently The University Club, 1673 Sherman St). Show up at 5:45 for the orientation if you're new, this crowd has been doing it long enough that it runs like clockwork.
Avalanche vs. Stars, Wednesday 10/14, 7:30pm at Ball Arena. Not a workout, but a very good excuse to stand up and yell for three hours instead of sitting on your couch.
Rapids vs. Minnesota United FC, Wednesday 10/14, 7:30pm at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. Same night as the Avs, so pick your sport and bring a friend either way.
Recover Right
YogaSix DTC, Denver. Six styles under one roof, so you can do a gentle flow on Monday and a heated sculpt class on Thursday without switching studios.
Lagree Luxe Golden Triangle, Golden Triangle. A megaformer studio that turns ten minutes into full body shakes, in the best way.
Boost Platte River, LoHi. Small Pilates classes where the instructor actually knows your name, which is why people keep coming back.
Full calendar, every run club and game and class, lives at /events.
