Things to Do in Denver This Weekend (September 25–27)

This weekend Denver is doing a full split personality: Red Rocks has back to back sold-out-adjacent shows, Mission Ballroom is stacked, and there's a panda themed food festival taking over Civic Center Park for some reason. Basically no excuse to sit home. Patio weather's holding, so plan accordingly and drink water between beers.

Friday

The Revivalists at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 8pm with Ax and the Hatchetmen opening. This one will sell out, so don't wait around if you want in.

$uicideboy$ at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre, 6pm. Their crowd shows up hard, expect the lot to be a scene before doors even open, and yeah, this one will sell out too.

Prospa at Mission Ballroom, 8pm, 16+. Solid pick if you want a real dance floor and a sound system that actually hits.

American Aquarium at Ophelia's Electric Soapbox, 9pm. Alt country rock in a small room, get there early and grab a spot near the bar upstairs.

Carlita at The Church Nightclub, 10pm. Late night electronic set in a converted church, which is still one of the more fun rooms in the city to dance in.

THE SCHIZOPHONICS at Hi-Dive, 9pm. High energy garage punk in a tiny sweaty club, this is the pick if you want loud and close.

Panda Fest Denver kicks off at Civic Center Park, 4pm. Three days of Asian food vendors and panda themed everything, worth swinging by for dinner even if the theme is a little goofy.

Silver Linings: SPACE Gallery 25th Anniversary Exhibition Opening at SPACE Gallery, 6pm. Free-ish opening reception, 60-plus artists, good excuse to look at art and drink wine before the bars fill up.

Saturday

Big Gigantic at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 6pm with The Funk Hunters, Motifv, and Drew Birch. Electro funk at Red Rocks is always a good time, this one will sell out.

Jerry Seinfeld at Bellco Theatre, 8pm. Comedy legend, small-ish room for his level of fame, this will sell out fast if it hasn't already.

Yacht Rock Revue at Mission Ballroom, 8pm, 16+. Full band doing Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers covers, this is the show where everyone knows every word and nobody's embarrassed about it.

Day Trip Block Party Denver at JUNKYARD, 1pm. Daytime party with a lineup, patio, and the kind of crowd that starts drinking before 2pm on a Saturday.

Emarosa at HQ Denver, 8pm on the High Horse Heaven Tour. Post-hardcore show for the crowd that still owns a battle jacket.

The Grawlix at The Bug Theatre, 8pm. Local comedy trio Adam Cayton-Holland, Ben Roy, and Andrew Orvedahl do their long-running stand-up and sketch showcase, and it's genuinely one of the better cheap nights out in town.

Sunday

JUNGLE at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 7:30pm with RIO KOSTA. Great way to close the weekend, groove-heavy set that fits a sunset show perfectly, this one will sell out.

World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music at Fiddler's Green Amphitheatre, 8pm. Full orchestral show for the gamers, unexpectedly a great date night if you both know what a Naxxramas raid is.

Free This Weekend

Morrison Ciderfest, Historic Downtown Morrison, Saturday 10am. Small-town fall festival with live music, cider press demos, an artisan market, and food trucks, easy day trip if you want out of the city for a few hours.

Riverdale Regional Park Dragon Boat Regatta & Night Market, Brighton, Saturday 10am. Daytime races on the lake followed by a free evening night market with AANHPI food vendors.

Firefly Handmade Fall Market, Denver Design District, Saturday 10am. Around 100 juried makers, live music, and food, good for gifts and browsing with a coffee in hand.

Union Station Farmers Market, Denver Union Station Plaza, Saturday 8am to 1pm. Grab breakfast and produce before your day gets away from you.

South Pearl Street Farmers Market, S. Pearl St. between Iowa and Arkansas, Sunday 9am to 1pm. Solid Sunday reset walk, tons of food stalls if you're hungover.

Citius RC Saturday Long Run, rotating coffee shops and running stores, Saturday 7am. Free 8-mile group run with pace groups, then coffee after, a decent way to earn Saturday's second beer.
