The Best Hot Dogs in Denver (2026): Who's Still Open and What to Order
Two of Denver's most recommended hot dog spots are gone. Here's where to get a great dog in 2026, from a Littleton legend to the best Chicago dog in town.
Denver's hot dog scene changed a lot in the last couple of years. Two of the names everyone used to recommend are gone, and the best dog in the metro is now in a Littleton strip center. Here's where to go in 2026, all confirmed open in October. Out after the bars? Our late-night food guide covers what's still open.
The quick picks
- Best overall: Harley's A Hot Dog Revolution in Littleton.
- Best Chicago dog: Mustard's Last Stand on South University.
- Best downtown: Billy's Gourmet Hot Dogs on Larimer.
- Best cheap lunch: the Henry's Hot Dogs cart in Cherry Creek North.
- Best Korean corn dog: 88 Hot Dog & Juicy in Aurora.
First, who's gone
If you've been searching for Biker Jim's, the famous Larimer Street spot with the rattlesnake and reindeer sausages is no longer there, and the only Biker Jim's listing left on Google shows as temporarily closed. Steve's Snappin' Dogs on Colfax is permanently closed. Update your list.
The best hot dogs in Denver
Harley's A Hot Dog Revolution, Littleton
The best hot dog shop in the metro. Harley's has been at 1500 West Littleton Boulevard since 2013 and sits at 4.8 stars across about 1,700 Google reviews, which is a ridiculous number for a hot dog counter. The signature menu runs from a proper Windy City Dog to the Chili Pie Dog, the Buff Daddy, the Death Vader and the Eddie Spaghetti Dog. Get one classic and one weird one.
Mustard's Last Stand, South University
The Chicago dog. Mustard's was founded in 1978 by a Chicago native who wanted a real Chicago-style dog for all the transplants, and the Denver shop at 2081 South University Boulevard is still where Denver's Chicago transplants go for one. Polish sausage, chili dogs and corn dogs round out the menu.
Chicago Style Beef and Dogs, Lakewood
The other Chicago option, at 6680 West Colfax Avenue in Lakewood, with 4.3 stars across about 1,700 reviews. As the name says, come for the Chicago dog and stay for the Italian beef.
Billy's Gourmet Hot Dogs, Ballpark
The downtown pick, at 2445 Larimer Street a few blocks from Coors Field. Billy's does regional dogs and some genuinely odd sausage combinations, but the fries are half the reason to go. Order the garlic pesto blue cheese fries.
Henry's Hot Dogs, Cherry Creek North
A hot dog cart with a 4.9-star rating. Henry's works Cherry Creek North, most recently around 290 Fillmore Street, and it's the cheapest good lunch in a neighborhood that doesn't have many. Carts move, so check its socials before you walk over.
Corn dogs
- 88 Hot Dog & Juicy at 2225 South Peoria Street in Aurora does Korean-style corn dogs, the kind rolled in potato cubes or panko and dusted with sugar. It's rated 4.7 across more than 500 reviews.
- Two Hands Corn Dogs at 2076 South University Boulevard is the Korean corn dog spot near DU, and it's right down the street from Mustard's if you want a two-stop crawl.
Game day
Going to a Rockies game? Billy's is the sit-down pregame. For something quicker, the street carts around 19th and Wynkoop and along 16th Street, like Joe's Fancy Dogs, are the easy grab on the walk to the ballpark. Going to an Avalanche game instead? See where to eat and drink before and after.
How to order a Chicago dog
All-beef frank, steamed poppy-seed bun, yellow mustard, bright green relish, chopped onion, tomato wedges, a pickle spear, sport peppers and a dash of celery salt. Skip the ketchup. Both Chicago spots on this list will make it right.
