Things to Do in Denver This Weekend (September 18–20)

Billy Strings is basically taking over Ball Arena for three nights straight, which tells you everything about the energy this weekend. Add in two Oktoberfests, a Red Rocks doubleheader, and enough gallery openings and farmers markets to fill every gap, and you've got zero excuse to sit home. Patios are still open, the beer gardens are stocked, and the lineup only gets weirder (and better) as the weekend goes on.

Friday

Billy Strings, Ball Arena, 7:30pm. Night one of a three-night run and this one will sell out if it hasn't already. Bring earplugs, the man plays for three hours.

The Denver Oktoberfest (Weekend One), Larimer Street, Ballpark District, starts at 3pm. Free general admission, keg bowling, stein hoisting, and enough beer tents to make you forget it's technically still summer.

Lily Allen Performs West End Girl, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 8pm. She's doing the whole new album live at Red Rocks, which is a pretty good excuse to bring a flask and a blanket.

Emo Nite - 21+, Summit Music Hall, 9pm. Scream every My Chemical Romance lyric you swore you forgot. You didn't.

Polyphia Tour MMXXVI, JUNKYARD, 7:30pm. Technical, weird, loud. Good Friday night chaos.

Electrik Seoul and Space Jam: DXNBY, Club Vinyl, 10pm. Two dance floors under one roof, so if one room's music isn't hitting you can just walk downstairs.

Saturday

Billy Strings, Ball Arena, 7:30pm. Night two, still sold out territory, still worth the resale price if you're into it.

Atmosphere & FRIENDS: COLORADO, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 7pm. Stacked bill with 3OH!3, Slick Rick, Z-Trip, and a surprise Everlast set. This one will sell out, get tickets now.

Cherry Creektoberfest, Fillmore Plaza, Cherry Creek North, noon. Brand new free Bavarian festival with wooden chalets, stein hoisting, and live music. Bring cash for the good beer.

Bierstadt's RiNo Oktoberfest 2026, Bierstadt Lagerhaus, RiNo, noon. Queer vendor bazaar, table toboggan racing, and a baby goat petting zoo, because why not. The lagers here are some of the best in the city regardless of the festival.

Colfax Carousal Punk Fest, Illegal Pete's and venues along East Colfax, starts evening. One wristband gets you into six bars for 34 local bands. It's a fundraiser for independent Colfax spots, so your cover charge is doing real work.

Amelie Lens, Reelworks Denver, 9pm. If you want a proper late-night techno set, this is the one.

wave to earth - the pieces tour, Fillmore Auditorium, 7pm. Dreamy indie pop for the people who need a break from beer tents.

Bobby Lee: The Finally Tour 2026, Paramount Theatre, 7pm. Unhinged in the way only Bobby Lee can be. Do not bring your mom.

Sunday

Andrea Bocelli, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 8pm. Big, sweeping, gorgeous way to close out the weekend with a glass of wine instead of a beer. Expect this to sell out.

Billy Strings, Paramount Theatre, 7:30pm. Third and final night, smaller room this time, so if you missed the arena shows this is your last shot.

Josh Conway w/ Homeshake, Bluebird Theatre, 8pm. Chill, groovy, good way to ease into a Sunday night that doesn't feel like a Sunday night.

Sub Urban, Cervantes Other Side, 8pm. Dark, moody pop for anyone not ready to let the weekend die yet.

Free This Weekend

3rd Fridays: DJ Night, Denver Art Society, 7pm. Free DJ set inside a working gallery space on Santa Fe. Low key but a genuinely fun way to start the weekend.

SYNC Gallery Opening Reception and 99 Pieces of Art Opening Reception, Art District on Santa Fe, 6pm. Wander the galleries, drink the free wine, look at art made by people way more talented than you.

The Denver Oktoberfest (Weekend One), Larimer Street, free general admission starting at 3pm Friday. You don't have to pay to walk around and people watch.

Cherry Creektoberfest, Fillmore Plaza, free entry starting noon Saturday. Same deal, just bring your own beer money.

Union Station Farmers Market, Denver Union Station Plaza, Saturday 8am to 1pm. Coffee, produce, and a good excuse to be outside before the day gets hot.

Mile High Flea Market, 7007 E 88th Ave, 7am to 5pm all weekend. Eighty acres of vintage junk and treasure, easily an hour or three of your Saturday gone.
