The Sweat Report: Denver Fitness This Week (September 22)

Run clubs, classes, and the active plans worth showing up for this week in Denver: plus where to recover after.

Fall officially showed up this week and so did every run club in Denver, which means the sidewalks outside breweries are about to get crowded with people in split shorts pretending they're just there for the beer.

This is your rundown of the standing run clubs and fitness meetups where you actually talk to humans, the one big one-off worth blocking out, and where to go afterward when your legs are done negotiating with you.

The Standing Plans

Denver Run Club - Tuesday Social Run, Tuesdays 6pm at Ratio Beerworks (2920 Larimer St). About a 5K, then drinks. This one's built for talking to strangers, not just running past them.

Cooldown Running Denver - Tuesday Run, Tuesdays 6:30pm, location drops weekly on @cooldownrunning's Instagram. Follow before you show up. The crowd skews young and this is very much a "make plans after" kind of group.

HTB Run Club, Wednesdays 6:30pm at Highland Tap & Burger. Dinner and drink specials waiting when you're done, which is the entire reason half the group shows up.

November Project Denver - Wednesday Workout, Wednesdays 6:15am, alternating between Civic Center Park and the Capitol steps. Free, year round, and one of the most established fitness communities in the city if you can actually get out of bed.

Runners Roost Denver - Wednesday Run Club, Wednesdays 6pm from the store at 1685 S Colorado Blvd. Low key, no drop group run, good for meeting people without the bar attached.

Colorado Harriers - Tempo Thursday, Thursdays 6:30pm at Denver Beer Co (1695 Platte St), Feb through Nov. BOGO beers after the tempo run, which explains the turnout.

Denver Trail Runners - Thursday Evening Run, Thursdays 6:15pm at a foothills trailhead announced weekly on Facebook. 60 to 75 minutes on dirt, then dinner. Good group if you're tired of pavement.

Citius RC - Friday Breakfast Club Social Run, Fridays 6am, rotating coffee shops. Easy pace, coffee at the end, basically a first date with less pressure.

November Project Denver - Friday Workout, Fridays 6:15am, location posted Thursdays on IG/FB. Same energy as the Wednesday one, different park.

Citius RC - Saturday Long Run, Saturdays 7am (8am once it gets colder), rotating coffee shops and running stores. About 8 miles with pace groups, so nobody gets left alone.

Union Station Farmers Market, Saturdays 8am to 1pm at Union Station Plaza through October. Not a workout, but it's where everyone ends up after one, coffee in hand, pretending they're not sore.

Denver Trail Runners - Sunday Long Run, Sundays around 7 to 8am, foothill or mountain trails announced weekly. 1.5 to 2 hours, the kind of run where you actually get to know someone.

Runners Roost Central Park - Monday Run Club, Mondays 5:45pm from the store at 7305 E 35th Ave. Solid way to start the week without going straight home after work.

Odell Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6:30pm from Odell's RiNo taproom (2945 Larimer St). Social run, beer at the finish, RiNo foot traffic doing the rest.

Cerebral Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6pm from Cerebral Brewing (1477 Monroe St). Smaller crowd than the RiNo spots, which some people prefer.

This Week Only

SnowShape Fitness Series, Presented by Toyota, Saturday September 26, 8am at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. One morning a year you get to work out on those steps without training for a race first.

Recover Right

Denver Pilates Movement, LoHi. 5 out of 5 rating in a neighborhood full of studios, which says enough.

Canopy Yoga, LoHi. A studio locals swear by for yoga that actually feels personal, not performative.

SweatHouz Tennyson Contrast Therapy Studio, West Highland. Infrared sauna into cold plunge, the contrast therapy ritual Denver keeps coming back to.

Full calendar, every run club and class we know about, lives at /events.
