Things to Do in Denver This Weekend (October 30–November 1)

Your weekend, sorted: the shows, parties, markets, and patios worth leaving the house for, October 30–November 1.

Halloween weekend in Denver basically means picking your fighter: bass music, Itchy-O's unhinged percussion ritual, a comedy set, or just a solid bar crawl in a costume you're definitely re-wearing from two years ago. Add in deadmau5 doing back to back Red Rocks nights and a Broncos game to close things out, and this is not a weekend to be lazy about planning. Grab tickets now, most of the big rooms are going to sell out.

Friday

deadmau5, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 7:30pm. First of two Halloween weekend nights at Red Rocks, this one will sell out, so don't wait around on this if you want in.

Itchy-O's Hallowmass: Mayat Ōm, Night One, Summit Music Hall, 7pm. Denver's own masked drum army kicks off two nights of controlled chaos with a Lakota drum group opening. If you've never seen Itchy-O, this is the year to fix that.

Disco Mystique: LoDo Halloween Party, Dairy Block, 8pm. Costume contest, drag, DJs, disco ball, runs until 1am. Easy pick if you want a dance floor downtown without committing to a big venue.

Sorry GOREgeous: The Last Dance, Sorry Gorgeous Rooftop, 3pm. RiNo's rooftop goes full haunted ballroom with themed cocktails and late-night DJs. Good warm-up stop before you head wherever you're ending the night.

Matroda, Mission Ballroom, Friday. House and bass heads already know, grab tickets before this one moves without you.

Haunted Mansion feat. Loud Luxury, Bryce Alakai, MC4d, Fillmore Auditorium, 7pm. Tropical house and EDM for the crowd that wants a big room and a louder night.

Fred Armisen: Comedy For Musicians But Everyone Is Welcome, Paramount Theatre, 7pm. If you want something funnier and less sweaty than a rave, this is your move.

Saturday

deadmau5, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 7:30pm. Night two at the rocks, on Halloween itself. This one will sell out too.

Itchy-O's Hallowmass: Mayat Ōm, Night Two, Summit Music Hall, 7pm. They close out the run on actual Halloween, which feels right.

Whethan: WAREHOUSE.WAVS Tour (360 Show), Mission Ballroom, 8pm. A full-production bass show on Halloween night, this one will sell out.

Young Nudy, Fredo Bang, Fillmore Auditorium, 8pm. 16+ show, bring real ID, no exceptions.

Daytime Halloween Rave in RiNo, Reelworks, 12pm. For the people who want to be done dancing before dinner. 21+.

Colorado Avalanche vs. Calgary Flames, Ball Arena, 8pm. Hockey on Halloween, then straight into whatever party you've got lined up after.

Halloween Comedy: Fright Night, Denver Comedy Lounge, 8pm. Stand-up plus the venue's sake and izakaya menu in a small RiNo room.

Ghosts in the Gardens, Denver Botanic Gardens, 4:30pm. Last night of the season for this self-guided after-dark walk with staff ghost stories. Low key, actually kind of great for a date.

Sunday

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs, Empower Field at Mile High, 2:25pm. The whole city's attention is here. This one will sell out if it hasn't already.

Teddy Swims: The UGLY Tour, Ball Arena, 7pm. That voice live is worth the recovery-day effort, and this one will sell out.

Orville Peck w/ Abbie Callahan, Mission Ballroom, 8pm. Masked country crooner with a guest list that includes Emmylou Harris and Noah Cyrus on the new record. Good pick if you want a seated-feeling show with actual songwriting.

Yandel: Sinfónico, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, 8pm. Reggaeton with a full orchestra at the rocks, which is exactly as good as it sounds.

Everclear: Lucky 7 Tour, Gothic Theatre, 8pm. 90s nostalgia in a small room, good way to close the weekend without another big crowd.
