Midweek in Denver: Tonight & Tomorrow (October 28)

The best of Wednesday and Thursday in Denver: shows, socials, and reasons the weekend can wait.

The weekend is a construct and you know it. Wednesday and Thursday this week are stacked enough that waiting until Friday is just leaving good plans on the table.

Red Rocks has back to back nights that could each headline a weekend, there's a run club for every pace and excuse, and somebody finally brought line dancing back in a way that doesn't feel like a bachelorette party. Here's what's worth leaving the couch for.

Tonight

Koe Wetzel, 6:45pm, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Wade Bowen and Kolby Cooper open, so you're getting three solid sets of outlaw country under the stars on a Wednesday. That's a flex, not a compromise.

Geese, 8pm, Mission Ballroom. The Brooklyn band just dropped their third album "Getting Killed" and this tour is the kind of show you'll be telling people about before it's cool to have seen them.

Avalanche vs. Devils, 7pm, Ball Arena. Puck drop on a Wednesday is the easiest excuse in the book to grab a buddy and a $14 beer and call it a night out.

Grizzly Rose Line Dancing Night, 6:30pm, Grizzly Rose. Free lesson, no cliques, and apparently board games after if your hips give out before your brain does. This is the most fun you'll have for zero dollars this week.

HTB Run Club, 6:30pm, Highland Tap & Burger. Free group run that ends in dinner and drink specials, which is the only kind of cardio math that's ever worked for me.

Beauty and the Beast, 7:30pm, Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre. If your parents are in town or you just want a night that doesn't involve standing, this is the move.

Tomorrow

Cypress Hill & Method Man & Redman: Haunted Rocks, 6pm, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. De La Soul, Digable Planets, Hieroglyphics, and The Pharcyde are all on this bill too. This is a legitimate hip hop festival at Red Rocks on a Thursday and it will sell out your group chat's plans for next week too.

Dan + Shay: The Young Tour, 7pm, Ball Arena. If Koe Wetzel is your rowdy night, this is the one where you bring a date and know every word.

Geeks Who Drink Trivia at Denver Milk Market, 7pm, Denver Milk Market. $10 pizzas, $10 drinks, and trivia that actually tests you. Grab a team and claim a table early, this place fills up fast.

L'Apero de Denver French Happy Hour, 7pm, rotating bars. Email in to get the WhatsApp invite and show up wherever they land that week. Good wine, good patios, zero pressure.

Campground: Bass Bingo Afters, 8pm, Larimer Lounge. Free show, 21+, and the kind of late set that makes a Thursday feel like a Friday without the cover charge.

Colorado Harriers Tempo Thursday, 6:30pm, Denver Beer Company. Free tempo run followed by BOGO beers. Earn the beer first, this time.
