The Sweat Report: Denver Fitness This Week (September 15)

Run clubs, classes, and the active plans worth showing up for this week in Denver: plus where to recover after.

Fall is here, the mornings are crisp, and everyone's route through downtown suddenly has 40 people in reflective vests on it. That's not a coincidence. Run club season is peaking and it's honestly the easiest way to meet people right now, no apps required, just show up and keep pace with a stranger for three miles.

This week's lineup covers every night of the week, plus two one-off events worth building your Tuesday and Friday around. And because none of this counts if you can't walk on Wednesday, we've got recovery spots to close it out.

The Standing Plans

Denver Run Club Tuesday Social Run, Tuesdays 6pm at Ratio Beerworks (2920 Larimer St). Free, about a 5K, drinks right after. This is the one where you actually talk to people because the run is short enough that nobody's dying.

Colorado Harriers Tuesday Track Workout, Tuesdays 6:15am at North High School track. Free. This crowd is serious about paces but not precious about it, good group if you want structure before 7am.

HTB Run Club, Wednesdays 6:30pm at Highland Tap & Burger. Free, dinner and drink specials after. Consistently one of the friendliest crowds in the city because the whole point is the food and drinks that come next.

November Project Denver Wednesday Workout, Wednesdays 6:15am, alternating between Civic Center Park and the Capitol steps. Free, year round, and the community here is the real deal. People show up for years and it shows.

Colorado Harriers Tempo Thursday, Thursdays 6:30pm at Denver Beer Company (1695 Platte St). Free, BOGO beers after the run. Good mix of people pushing pace and people just there for the beer deal.

Denver Trail Runners Thursday Evening Run, Thursdays 6:15pm, foothills trailheads (location posted weekly). Free, 60 to 75 minutes, dinner after. If you're bored of pavement, this is your group.

Citius RC Friday Breakfast Club, Fridays 6am, rotating coffee shops. Free, easy pace, social by design. Low stakes way to start a Friday and end up with coffee in hand.

November Project Denver Friday Workout, Fridays 6:15am, rotating parks (announced Thursdays on IG/FB). Free. Same community as Wednesday, different park, same energy.

Union Station Farmers Market, Saturdays 8am to 1pm through October, Denver Union Station Plaza. Not a workout, but half the run clubs end up here after their long runs anyway, so might as well know it's there.

Citius RC Saturday Long Run, Saturdays 7am (8am off season), rotating coffee shops and running stores. Free, about 8 miles with pace groups so nobody gets left behind.

Denver Trail Runners Sunday Long Run, Sundays around 7 to 8am, foothill and mountain trails (location varies). Free, 1.5 to 2 hours. This is the group for people who consider Sunday a training day, not a rest day.

Cerebral Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6pm at Cerebral Brewing (1477 Monroe St). Free social run straight from the brewery, easy way to start the week without starting it alone.

Runners Roost Central Park Monday Run Club, Mondays 5:45pm from the store at 7305 E 35th Ave #150. Free, good neighborhood group if you're on that side of town.

Odell Brewing Run Club, Mondays 6:30pm at Odell Brewing RiNo (2945 Larimer St). Free social run from the taproom, another solid option to close out Monday with people instead of your couch.

This Week Only

US Open Cup Semi-Final: Colorado Rapids vs St. Louis CITY SC, Wednesday September 16 at 7:30pm, Dick's Sporting Goods Park. This is a genuinely big deal, check the ticket limits and bag policy before you go.

SnowShape Fitness Series, Saturday September 19 at 8am, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. A fitness event at Red Rocks is reason enough, the setting does the work for you.

Recover Right

Light Lounge Denver, Congress Park. 5 stars, the kind of spot you book after a week of stacking these run clubs on top of each other.

KinetikChain Physical Therapy Denver, Cherry Creek. One-on-one PT for people who train hard and want back in the gym fast, not the sit-around-forever kind of rehab.

YogaSix Boulevard One, Lowry. 5 star reputation, real community, classes for whatever mood your body is in after all those track workouts.

Full calendar with every run, class, and event this week lives at /events.
